I would have gone to bed when I was sick instead of pretending the earth would go into a holding pattern if I weren't there for the day.

I would have burned the pink candle sculpted like a rose before it melted in storage.

I would have talked less and listened more.

I would have invited friends over to dinner even if the carpet was stained, or the sofa faded.

I would have eaten the popcorn in the 'good' living room and worried much less about the dirt when someone wanted to light a fire in the fireplace.

I would have taken the time to listen to my grandfather ramble about his youth.

I would have shared more of the responsibility carried by my husband.

I would never have insisted the car windows be rolled up on a summer day because my hair had just been teased and sprayed.

I would have sat on the lawn with my grass stains.

I would have cried and laughed less while watching television and more while watching life.

I would never have bought anything just because it was practical, wouldn't show soil, or was guaranteed to last a lifetime.

Instead of wishing away nine months of pregnancy, I'd have cherished every moment and realized that the wonderment growing inside me was the only chance in life to assist God in a miracle.

When my kids kissed me impetuously, I would never have said, "Later. Now go get washed up for dinner."

There would have been more "I love you's." More "I'm sorry's."

But mostly, given another shot at life, I would seize every minute...look at it and really see it, live it and never give it back.

Stop sweating the small stuff.

Don't worry about who doesn't like you, who has more, or who's doing what. Instead, let's cherish the relationships we have with those who do love us. Let's think about what God HAS blessed us with. And what we are doing each day to promote ourselves mentally, physically, emotionally.

Age 3: She looks at herself and sees a Queen.

Age 8: She looks at herself and sees Cinderella.

Age 15: She looks at herself and sees an Ugly Sister (Mum I can't go to school looking like this!)

Age 20: She looks at herself and sees "too fat/too thin, too short/too tall, too straight/too curly"- but decides she's going out anyway.

Age 30: She looks at herself and sees "too fat/too thin, too short/too tall, too straight/too curly" - but decides she doesn't have time to fix it, so she's going out anyway.

Age 40: She looks at herself and sees "clean" and goes out anyway.

Age 50: She looks at herself and sees "I am" and goes wherever she wants to go.

Age 60: She looks at herself and reminds herself of all the people who can't even see themselves in the mirror anymore. Goes out and conquers the world.

Age 70: She looks at herself & sees wisdom, laughter and ability, goes out and enjoys life.

Age 80: Doesn't bother to look and goes out to have fun with the world.

* It's just a thought after all....

Word of the Day

Word of the Day for Monday, October 23, 2006

felicitous \fuh-LIS-uh-tuhs\, adjective:

1. Suitably applied or expressed; appropriate; apt.
2. Happy; delightful; marked by good fortune.

We do this sort of thing most weekends anyway, said a lean rebel with gunpowder smudges on his face and the felicitous name of Troy Cool.
-- Tony Horwitz, Confederates in the Attic

I always have a pad of paper and a pencil within reach, to catch on the wing this turn of phrase which strikes me as felicitous, that idea which I hope to be able to examine more closely in the light of day.
-- Roger Martin du Gard, Lieutenant-Colonel de Maumort (translated by Timothy Crouse)

The word zakat itself suggests both piety and purity, underscoring the relationship of financial responsibility to righteous living. Like all Islamic requirements, its observance helps assure the giver of abetter chance for a felicitous reward in the hereafter.
-- Jane I. Smith, Islam in America

Felicitous is derived from Latin felicitas, "fertility, hence success, happiness," from felix, "fertile, successful, happy."

Just a Touch of Masturbation...

Gentle caresses, the muffled hush of pleasure, warm soft hands gliding over an equally warm eager naked body, my body...

Masturbation, sex for the body - mind - spirit & soul.

I desire physical contact; I relish being touched and loved, physically. The ultimate form of self love, self esteem, self appreciation, is the commitment to oneself as a sexual being.

So why are we, as women not willing to, not wanting to, not needing to - touch ourselves? Why not?

Morals, values play character in some of our choices. However, we were made to give life. The making of this life we're able to give is an absolute orgasmic experience. OR. It can be.

How many women "fake it". How many women just don't know how to climax? Afraid they may not be able to, perhaps that they're broken, or weren't meant to feel as other woman are able to? You can be a completely self reliant, confident, intelligent woman and still remain true to your sexuality as a sexual human being.

MANY women don't touch themselves (it is a choice) because of fear, and this saddens me. Sex, sexual relations and physical chemistry are in the eyes of the beholder, the beholder not afraid to "behold" their own ;)

Is it uncommon for a young man to touch himself? Not at all. Why then is it so unheard of for a young woman to explore her body, her sexuality and preferences?

If we need, from our partners to be physically satisfied, we must be able to show, explain and have experience with what it is that we desire, need sexually.

Men know what they enjoy sexually, what they're willing to do sexually, how they want to be sexually and are pretty open to experimenting with their sexual partner(s). Men masturbate.

As once told to me, by a man...
99% of men masturbate, the other 1% just don't have hands!

Interestingly true.

It's really up to the individual person, their level of hormonal influence, their desires, their needs, and how they choose to derive their personal pleasure.

Me, I choose masturbation.

Mind, Body, Sexuality - MORE!

PART 5 - Mind, Body, Sexuality!

Let's talk about sex, shall we?

What about it, are you thinking this very thought? Well then perhaps you're one that truly NEEDS to open up a little. Why, there's EVERYTHING to talk about when dealing with sex, and sexuality...

Definition of everything:
a : all that exists b : all that relates to the subject

So, let us begin to openly discuss all that exists AND all that relates to our subject(s) sex/sexuality. Where do we begin? OH, OH, OH WAIT! Why not be crazy, insane like and begin at the beginning...

What is sexuality?
Everything that has to do with being male or female, how we think of our bodies, our relationships with one another, how we grow and change and how we reproduce.

Characteristics of sexual development...
Babies are curious and explore their world and their own bodies.
All babies touch their genitals; it feels good and is comforting to them. Babies need to feel comfortable with all of their body parts, yes including their "private parts".

What can a parent do?
Help your baby recognize correct names for body parts. During dressing, diapering and bathing, practice saying names of body parts to your baby. If you use words such as penis, vulva and rectum as you would words such as eye, ear and nose, you will be more comfortable using these words in conversations when your child is older. Hey, it works - I know :)

Characteristics of sexual development...
Toddlers have more curiosity about their own bodies than do infants.
Masturbation can increase, especially when your toddler is tired or going to sleep. They also have an increased awareness of being a boy or a girl. Young children imitate adult behavior associated with gender: They want to be "just like Mommy," or "just like Daddy."
Toilet training is an important landmark for your toddler. Toddlers associate their genitals with what happens when they have bowel movements or urinate.

What can a parent do?
Praise and reinforce your toddler during toilet training. Promote your child's self-esteem and healthy sexual attitudes by accepting their questions and explorations. Parents will respond differently as their children's awareness of sexuality grows.
Many parents wonder how they should respond to their young child's genital play. Although genital play and masturbation are normal and universal in young children, parents' responses may vary.

Choose to ignore the behavior. When your child is older you can explain about modesty and private behavior.

Smile as your baby discovers his or her genitals. You may say, "I know that feels good," conveying respect for your child's feelings.

If your child's genital play is unacceptable to you, distract your child from that behavior by providing another activity.

IMPORTANT: Do not punish your child for genital play. Punishment may result in long-lasting negative feelings about genital pleasure.

So to recap, sex/sexuality indeed begins in the very early stages of being a sexual human being.

Why then do I have a determined hand to "hide" what I type as a child strolls by... What is it I'm not being open to? How do I improve my communication towards sexuality with my children? When?
ANSWER: When they ask, I shall be open to discuss, elaborate, assist in queries, attempting to be an open/honest communicator.

Phew, almost had a dilemma on my hands there ;)

Mind, Body, Sexuality - Sex Statements!

PART 4 - Mind, Body, Sexuality!

Sex ideas? Sexual topics? Does this type of chat leave you feeling puzzled or worried about sex? Uncomfortable even?
Sadly, you're not alone. Open honest communication is the answer.
A few examples of sexual topics needing to be addressed:

I can't get aroused.

Sex takes too long.

Dealing with different libidos.

Exhausted by marathon sex.

Post-hysterectomy and no sex drive.

De-stress and have better sex.

Combat vaginal dryness.

Overcoming inhibitions.

Get him to meet your desires.

Weight gain hampers sex life.

Heavyweight sex.

I've never had an orgasm.

Orgasms make me laugh!

He's got a weeny penis.

His penis is too big!

He doesn't want sex.

He's addicted to sex.

I caught him masturbating!

Circumcised versus uncircumcised.

Finding his G-spot.

No hair down there.

My vagina is unattractive.

The benefits of pelvic floors.

I can't swallow!

Equal time for oral sex.

Oral sex makes me ill.

My husband is silent in bed.

No sex for eight years.

My husband is avoiding sex.

He's a one-minute man.

He wants anal sex!

The pleasures of masturbation.

Never touched myself.

ANSWER: Engage your sensual self, EXPLORE!

PS. FOR HER: If he's an eency weency, silent, one minute guy - dump his scrawny, mute, impatient ass ;)

PPS. FOR HIM: If she's a non-swallowing dry sponge, with a light slight libido, complimented by not taking it up the bum - TRY HARDER!

Mind, Body, Sexuality - Mountains of questions!

PART 3 - Mind, Body, Sexuality!

There are multitudinous queries regarding sex and sexuality. Why? Are we not being taught correctly, or perhaps at all? Do we simply expect to know, rather than prepare ourselves for what is to come (again, no pun intended)?

Why? And where's the shame in asking, seeking, finding out "the answers"? There isn't! You just have to know where, or know whom to ask.

Okay, ready - morph into BRAVE BEAR and - ask away............

Some questions and more questions I found...

What are the sexual effects of alcohol?

Can I get a yeast infection from a personal lubricant?

What does sex positive mean?

Can vibrators cause sensation problems or orgasm difficulties?

How long does sex last for?

How do I measure up?

What is an orgasm?

Is there such a thing as a missed orgasm?

Can women ejaculate?

What to do about intimate odours?

What is a hooded clitoris?

Is oral sex dangerous?

Is non-stop pleasure normal?

Where exactly is the 'G-spot'?

Can chemistry be created?

Will anti-depressants affect my sex drive?

Is sex during pregnancy safe?

Will he know I'm a virgin?

ANSWERS: Honest and open communication, responsible planning, and educating yourself will bring you that much closer to a fulfilling and promising sexual-self. YOU SCORE!

Mind, Body, Sexuality - Types of ...

PART 2 - Mind, Body, Sexuality!

Types of Sex...

Type 1 - Seductive Sex, ie: "sensualize", seduce the mind, get the sexual energy flowing; to be taken slowly, unhurried undressing, eye contact, make love, maintaining a constant steady pace.

Type 2 - Romantic Sex, ie: romantic setting and seemingly endless foreplay; candles, sexy music, caress erogenous zones, ensuing sex should be slow and rhythmic.

Type 3 - Animalistic Sex, ie: grab, kiss hard, rip clothing off, fast, hard, leaving your inhibitions at the door.

Type 4 - Passionate Sex, ie: burning with desire and you want to devour each other; intense and deeply felt.

Type 5 - Quickie Sex, ie: pressed for time, unusual location, HOWEVER you want an orgasm and you want it now.

Type 6 - Kinky Sex, ie: blindfold, spank.

A FUNNY! - Seven Kinds Of Sex:

1. Smurf Sex: This kind of sex happens when you first meet someone and you both have sex until you are blue in the face.

2. Kitchen Sex: This is when you have been with your partner for a short time and you are so horny you will have sex anywhere, even in the kitchen.

3. Bedroom Sex: This is when you have been with your partner for a long time. Your sex has gotten routine and you usually have sex only in your bedroom.

4. Hallway Sex: This is when you have been with your partner for too long. When you pass each other in the hallway you both say "screw you."

5. Religious Sex: You get Nun in the morning, Nun in the afternoon and Nun at night.

6. Courtroom Sex: This is when you cannot stand your wife any more. She takes you to court and her lawyer screws you in front of everyone.

7. Social Security Sex: You get a little each month, but not enough to live on.

So many kinds, so little time. It's a very good thing I'm a persistant bug ;)

Body, Mind, Sexuality - All Healthy, Yup!

PART 1 - Body, Mind, Sexuality!

My favorite topic of discussion is sexuality. Sex is far too often dismissed as the forbidden subject, whereas no one speaks the "truth" of it all. It's a secret, private to ones morals and values. Sex and marriage - a hand in hand relationship.

Pffft, get real people.

Sexuality is...

More kinky than a mere thought; erotic. Feeling pleasure playing a central role in life. Taking pleasure in being naked/getting naked; seductive. Gets a charge from dressing provocatively. Merges and feels intimate oneness with others; believing love is proven through physical expression. Crediting what you get by how you feel; more sensual intellectual than logical. Uses presence of self to get what is desired; perceives personal relationships are as important as personal privacy. Risks rejection rather than remaining alone; not afraid to show feelings when someone is adored. Impulsive, charming...

The act of sex comes (no pun intended) to us in many phrases:

Doing it, coitus, copulating, intercourse, mating, sexual relations, making love, fucking, bumping nasties, sextasty, shagging, boppin, sloppy seconding(eeeeeeeeeeeew), sweet death, bareback, getting it on, infiltrate, smashing, boning, ultra sexed (I have this kind, of course ;), masturbating, mutual masturbating, etc.

Extra Note: The origin of "sex" - Sex stands for "sign extend".

It's a GIRL!!!!

Wonder Woman Trivial Information:

Real name: Diana

Occupation: Ambassador, teacher, super-hero

Base of Operations: New York City and Themyscira

Marital Status: Single

Height: 5' 11"

Weight: 140

Eyes: Blue

Hair: Black

First Appearance: (historical) ALL STAR COMICS #8 (Winter, 1941)

Powers: super strength, stamina, agility, magic lasso, invisible plane, bullet proof bracelets.

History: Amazonian princess who leaves Paradise Island to fight for right in man's world.

Wonder Woman is Princess Diana of the Amazon warrior tribe of Greek mythology, "Diana" being the Roman name for the Greek goddess Artemis on whom the character is based.

The Amazon ambassador to the larger world, Diana was awarded several gifts by the Olympian gods, including the Lasso of Truth (created from the Golden Girdle of Gaea) and indestructible silver bracelets (formed from the shield Aegis).

For several years she was described in the splash page of each story, as "beautiful as Aphrodite, wise as Athena, swifter than Mercury and stronger than Hercules."

On television, Wonder Woman lost her powers if her belt was removed. This was not true in the comics.

Wonder Woman was introduced in All Star Comics (issue #8; Dec 1941), the second bestselling comic in DC's line. Following this auspicious debut, she was featured in Sensation Comics #1 (January 1942), and six months later appeared in her own book (Summer 1942).

Amazons live a long time, but did Wonder Woman ever tell her age? Well, in the first episode on CBS, "The Return of Wonder Woman", she told Steve Trevor that she would be 2,527 years old on her next birthday.

In the comics, amazon bracelets were made of Amazonium. On television, they were made of Feminum.

In the comics, Diana would spin her lasso around herself to change into Wonder Woman. On the television show, she would simply spin (herself). They also added the "exploding circle of light" around her in the 3rd regular episode titled "Beauty on Parade". Before that, her "Diana" clothes seemed to dissolve off first, then her Wonder Woman costume would materialize giving the impression of brief nudity. That was considered to be a bit too much for prime time television in 1976!

In the comics, Steve Trevor had blonde hair but during the time that Lyle Waggoner (who had dark hair) was on television, they darkened the comic book charachter's hair too!

Her origin and creator:
In 1940, William Moulton Marston was an educational consultant for Detective Comics Inc (now DC Comics). Judging that the DC line was dominated by übermensch characters such as the Green Lantern, Batman and its flagship character, Superman, Marston decided to create a superheroine to serve as a female role model of sorts.

A core component in Marston's conception of Wonder Woman was "loving submission," in which kindness to others would result in willing submission derived from agape. This concept has resulted in parodies of the character in which male criminals are so enamored with the heroine's beauty that they surrender solely to enjoy her company.

Marston was also the creator of a systolic blood-pressure measuring apparatus, which was crucial to the development of the polygraph (lie detector). Marston's experience with polygraphs convinced him that women were more honest and reliable than men, and could work more efficiently.

In a 1943 issue of The American Scholar, Marston wrote:
"Not even girls want to be girls so long as our feminine archetype lacks force, strength, and power. Not wanting to be girls, they don't want to be tender, submissive, peace-loving as good women are. Women's strong qualities have become despised because of their weakness. The obvious remedy is to create a feminine character with all the strength of Superman plus all the allure of a good and beautiful woman."

Current DC Comics continuity has the adventures of Wonder Woman in World War II has being of that of her mother Hippolyta going back in time. Hippolyta joined the Justice Society and became known to the world as the first Wonder Woman. Diana the current Wonder Woman won the right to come to man's world by winning a contest on Paradise Island to see who would go, against her mother's wishes.

Allies: Justice League, Artemis/Wonder Woman II - An Amazon from a rival tribe who replaced Diana for a time as Wonder Woman, Donna Troy (Wonder Girl) Wonder Girl II...

It's quite eerie and a bit creepy how similar we are!!!!!!!!!!

Mick Jagger Gets His Satisfaction at the MacKenzie!

The Rumours are True!
Mick Jagger Gets His Satisfaction at the MacKenzie!

Regina – During their Saturday off between back-to-back Regina concerts, Mick Jagger and his young son took time out to visit the MacKenzie Art Gallery.

At closing time on Saturday evening (6 p.m.) MacKenzie staff were surprised when a British man walked in and asked if the Gallery could be kept open for a special visit from Mick Jagger. Logistically, the visit was complicated because five wedding parties were in the foyer of the T.C. Douglas building having their photographs taken. Nevertheless, Mick, his small son and his security guard got out of their limo and entered the gallery, amidst the flashes of many cameras.

The three special guests spend the next half hour exploring the variety of exhibitions current at the Gallery including Situation Comedy: Humour in Recent Art, Wahwâ Neechi Funk: Aboriginal Humour Exhibition and Norman MacKenzie: Raiders of the Lost Vault. After touring through the exhibition spaces, Mick Jagger graciously gave all the staff still on the premises a Rolling Stones guitar pick as a souvenir of his visit. Because of all the action in the lobby, our security people helped Mick sneak out an alternative entrance to avoid causing another commotion.

The MacKenzie Art Gallery presents exhibitions and programming with something for everyone. We welcome all the Stones fans in Regina to join us for our ‘Funny Fall’ exhibition opening reception on Friday October 13th, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Come and have a laugh, or two on us. Mick certainly did.

Everyone is welcome and admission is free.

Pink, Yellow, Green?

Gemstone Symbolism - Pink, Yellow, Green?

I have been researching gemstone colours and what they represent.

Call me flaky, I am :)

If I'm to accept a ring, as a token, blah, blah, blah I want it to be more than a mere token. I need this piece of metal, and slab of stone to truly bring to me, a sense of ahhhhhhhhhhhh.

How to put what I feel into words isn't always as easy as I plan previous - before, in my mind, I almost always make sense of it all ;) What I'm trying to get at is, I need beauty in my life. Whether it's a child's laughter, sunshine, a small furry non-vicious creature wanting attention, rainbows, kind people, bliss, a colour, ladybugs, a thought, cartoons, a feeling, etc.

I LOVE pink. Pink is a feel good colour. When I'm down, sad or simply just not having a super-fabulous day, wearing pink picks me up! Whoa, I'm THAT easy ;)

I love yellow. Sunshine, warmth, smiles, mmmm.

My favorite colour is green. No explanation really, it just is.

Now, how to decide? Educate, de-flake-ify, intelligently choose.

Here it goes...

The colours and stones I'm thinking about:

Citrine (Yellow)
Shields and protects the solar plexus. Tempers the energy of the power chakra, allowing for ease in dealing with others while maintaining your personal power.

Physical: Aids in digestion and elimination. Removes toxins and aids in regenerating the digestive system. It balances the thyroid and activates the thymus thereby allowing one to act from the purity of intent of the young in spirit; child like rather than childish.

Emotional: Increases contact with higher self and aids in the accomplishment of matters of daily living. Assists one in attracting those things necessary for life as the Gods that we truly are.

Kunzite (Pink)
Eases the entrance of life force into the physical body by strengthening the etheric, removes obstacles from ones path. Helps one to produce a shield against unwanted energies.

Physical: Balances the cardiovascular system, assists the body in receiving radionic treatments. Promotes the cellular blueprint with the perfect reproduction of the physical form.

Emotional: Opens the heart chakraand promotes the unification of the soul with the heart.

Sapphire (Pink)
Represents one’s connection with divine mind. Opens the mind to beauty and intuition.

Physical: Stimulates the regeneration of the pituitary gland and the ductless glandular system.

Emotional: Improves communication with spirit guides, promotes clarity and inspiration. Alleviates depression by helping the body correctly regulate the chemicals that affect moods.

This stone comes in every color of the rainbow and each color has a specific frequency that alters the human condition. As a general rule each of the colors correspond to a chakras and affect that energy center of the body.

Strengthens the immune system, clearing toxins in an appropriate manner and stimulating healing in the newly cleansed system. It also transforms negativity and generates an aura of opulence that translates to abundant material gain.

Treats the solar plexus allowing for an opening to the desires and a willingness to allow the necessary changes to take place that would allow for the desires to manifest.

Pink (Rubellite)
Stimulates the heart chakra and encourages the universality of unconditional love. Promotes loving aspirations to be realized in this reality.

Aids in the development of keener insight into dreams and alleviates hidden fears. Stimulates the greater use of mental capacity in the healing of the body.

Physical: Treats disorders of the spine, muscles and over-all general healing of the physical body.

Emotional: Balances the heart chakra and aligns and quiets the emotional bodies. Brings harmony to all areas of ones life. Eliminates negativity and assits one in remaining centered during the practical nature of ones work.

Gemstone Symbolism
The primary use for gems throughout history has been for healing and spiritual rituals. Although gems were rare and exhibited great beauty, the reason they were so precious was due to the power they imparted to their wearers.

They are storehouses of empowerment, transmitted through contact with one’s body. Kings and queens would have gemstones set in their crowns to obtain their potencies. They connected the monarchs with forces enabling them to rule guided by cosmic energies. Priests of different religions used gems in rings for similar reasons. Gems exhibit their power in a beneficial or detrimental way – depending on how they are used.

The inherent powers of gemstones are recognized by modern science in the technological uses of crystals in watches, lasers, and computers, but the more subtle potencies, such as their ability to promote physical healing in the body, or their power to help balance human emotions, elude modern science.

Here is an overview on the power of gems taken from All you wanted to know about Gems by Vijaya Kumar:

1) All stones or gems have magnetic powers in varying degrees, and many of them are beneficial to us for their therapeutic cures.

2) They emit vibrations and frequencies which have strong potential influence on our whole being.

3) They create strong energy fields which enable us to be charged with their energies.

4) The gems are used for healing, transforming, balancing, and attuning the body, mind and soul.

5) They are a manifestation of vibrancy, light and color, life, textures, transparency and clarity.

6) They activate our abilities, soothe and comfort, heal and balance through the purity of their rays.

7) The patterns in the stones reveal to us the changes that keep taking place, indicating that life is change – that the process of evolution is a cosmic law.

8) Each gem, tuned to a particular ray, has a special role to play.

9) The gems can be cleaned by leaving them under running water for six to eight hours. Or, bury them in some earth overnight, and rinse them off. Or, keep the stone in the flame of a candle until the candle melts. Or still, place the stone amongst a heap of quartz for several days, whereby its energy is revived from the contact of the quartz.

10) The gem that is cleaned should be placed in direct sunlight, for the sun is a great source of energy and purification.

11) The more precious stones that you wear, the more strongly will you be charged with cosmic forces, radiating out into your surroundings.

12) Wear your stones – Do not store them in a safe or jewelry box, for you will be depriving your body of their tremendous power.

13) Precious stones have a way of healing emotions that have been inharmonious.

14) The stones selected for use should always be in contact with one’s body to absorb their healing properties.

Here I am, still...

Oy vey!

Happy HUMP-A-LOT Day!

Darnit, I forgot to get...oh nevermind ;)

My agenda for today, as boring-a-lific as it sounds, is, as it is:

Shower. - I don't stink when I do this.

Teach 9am class. - "Suck it up Princess" will be heard across the land...

Banking. - One does need money accessible for life's lavish desires and whatnot, food.

Drop off kids lunches at school. - *Whining* I don't wanna make anything right now. And I'm not gonna!

Teach 12pm class. - More bliss to be had by all!

Grocery shopping. - Mmm, I love food, all food, especially "bad" food. Very similar, is my love for sex, all sex, especially "bad/naughty" sex ;)

A tan - I hope. - 20 minutes of uninterrupted me time. What I do with that time, naked, alone, IS ALL MINE!

Prepare and begin to bake supper. - Hmm, taco salad maybe??

Teach 5pm class. - Bliss, bliss, oh my God let this crazy woman STOP STOP HER, PLEASE, bliss!

Sit down with my family for supper. - Hmm, tacos??

Read one of my new books! - My lovely, most wonderful, thoughtful daughter bought me two books at an University book sale last week. I'm uber eager to delve into those pages and my imagination.

Bedtime :) - Ahhh, quiet again. It's a very good thing I don't own a gun. My PMSing is still a go, as I haven't bled thus far and am feeling a bit *unbalanced*. I enjoy solitude, no interruptions, far off thought processes, and less kerfluffle about, during THIS time of the month. Or a lot of sex.

Seamus is out of town for a couple of days, soooo...It's truly a GREAT thing I don't own a gun :)

Body Piercing

Body Piercing

When getting a piercing, you’re breaking the surface of your skin to do it and inserting a foreign object-needle, and/or ring. Your skin protects you from viruses, dirt, germs and bacteria. If a parlour or salon you go to doesn’t have the right knowledge and equipment, you could get communicable diseases such as HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis B or bacterial infections. Depending on the location of the piercing, there are some things you should know. And there are consequences if you decide to remove a piercing.

Location of Piercings

Did you know?

Piercing in your belly button can take up to six months to heal.
Piercing your nipples can lead to breastfeeding problems.
People with tongue studs have a much higher incidence of broken teeth because the stud has knocked against them.
With the bacteria that live in your mouth, your tongue may never heal properly from your stud.

Removing Piercings

It's recommended that you don’t remove jewelry in a piercing before the hole is completely healed. If it needs to be removed before healing, It's recommended that you check with your doctor before doing so. Removing a piercing usually leaves a scar.

Hmmm, where I want a piercing won't leave me wondering about any scar that may be left apparent ;) If yanno what I mean, jelly bean!

Eat in the A.M.: Every morning, as soon as you get out of bed, have something to eat or drink. Lisa Dorfman, Sports Nutritionist, says that even a piece of fruit or coffee with an ounce of milk will help kick-start your metabolism. "Research shows that any food [you eat] in the a.m. breaks the physiological fast, the state your body has been in while you sleep - hence the word 'breakfast,'" says Lisa.

Reduce Stress: Keep stress in check by adding exercise, prayer or meditation to your daily routine. Stress can actually set off a chain of hormonal events that can result in excess fat deposits.

Sofa Aerobics: While you're watching television, stand up and sit down repeatedly during each commercial break until you're tired or the break is over. This is basically a modified squat thrust. "Start with a minimum of two sets of 8 to 12 reps," said Karen Merrill, ACE 2004 personal trainer of the year. "Make sure you focus on good form to keep your core engaged and work the abs along with the legs."

Spice it Up: Carry a bottle of red pepper flakes in your work bag or keep a jar of hot chili peppers in the refrigerator at work, advises Dorfman. There's evidence that adding them to your lunches may help boost your metabolism.

Extreme Eating: Make a conscious effort to eat very cold snacks, like a popsicle, or very hot ones, like a cup of hot consommé. The extreme temperatures will make you eat slower, which gives your body time to signal your brain once you've had enough to eat.

Gab on the Go: Make your weekly phone calls to loved ones on your cell phone while taking a brisk walk. You'll burn a few calories and make your mother happy.

Stair Master: At the top of every hour at work, head into the stairwell and walk up and down a few flights to get your heart pumping. Once you start to feel fatigued, take a brief rest: Brace yourself on the hand rail and work your calves by doing toe raises on the top step.

Eliminate One Fat: Each day, make one non-fat substitution. Swap out half and half with fat-free creamer in your coffee, for example. You can save hundreds of fat calories each day that would otherwise go straight to your hips and thighs.

Tell the World: Put together a support team. Whether they're family or friends, tell them about your goals so they can help you stay on course and encourage your progress. "Get as many people on your side as you can - at work, at home - who know what you want to do and are there to support you," says Merrill. "With a solid support team, there's no reason you can't accomplish what you set out to do."

Bribe Yourself: Buy a bathing suit you absolutely adore, even if it's a bit out of your price range, and use it as a reward for when you're done shaping up. Not only will the promise of a splurge help motivate you, it's also guaranteed to make you happier about how you look when you finally slip it on.

Refreshing Water

In case you haven't heard it before, water is good for you!

Drinking water can help you:
Burn fat, beat a fever, improve your complexion, relieve constipation, build muscle, drain a stuffy nose, fight a stomachache, build muscle and improve your mood.

In fact, you’d be hard pressed to find a condition that isn’t eased by imbibing more cleansing, curative water.

In Your Body’s Many Cries for Water, Dr. Fereydoon Batmanghelidj argues that the body can “misinterpret thirst signals as pain,” and that...

Drinking more water can be helpful in curing everything from headaches and depression to asthma and arthritis.

Cummon reach for an icy cold refreshing cool crip glass of water!

Stroke Signs

Now doctors say a bystander can recognize a stroke by asking three simple questions:

1. *Ask the individual to SMILE.

2. *Ask him or her to RAISE BOTH ARMS.

3. *Ask the person to SPEAK A SIMPLE SENTENCE (Coherently) (i.e. . . It is sunny out today). If he or she has trouble with any of these tasks, call 9-1-1 immediately and describe the symptoms to the dispatcher.

*In case you may ever need this. I'm like Random Info Gal, who's very closely related to Wonder Woman!

Weight Loss...

Weight Loss...

So, the REAL and SIMPLE truth is:

The size of YOU really does matter to YOU.

*I matter. I'm very glad for this.

PMSing, Dear Lord Give Me Strength!

What's the difference between a woman having her period and a terrorist?
A: You can negotiate with a terrorist.

Why is it called PMS?
A: Because "Mad Cow Disease" was already taken

PMS Light Bulb Joke

How many women with PMS does it take to screw in a light bulb?

One. ONE!! And do you know WHY it only takes ONE? Because no one else in this house knows HOW to change a light bulb. They don't even know the bulb is BURNED OUT. They would sit in this house in the dark for THREE DAYS before they figured it OUT. And once they figured it out they wouldn't be able to find the light bulbs despite the fact that they've been in the SAME CUPBOARD for the past SEVENTEEN YEARS.

But if they did, by some miracle, actually find the light bulbs, TWO DAYS LATER the chair that they dragged from two rooms over to stand on to change the STUPID light bulb would STILL BE IN THE SAME SPOT!! AND UNDERNEATH IT WOULD BE THE CRUMPLED WRAPPER THE STUPID @*!#$% LIGHT BULBS CAME IN! WHY?! BECAUSE NO ONE IN THIS HOUSE EVER CARRIES OUT THE RUBBISH!!

I'm sorry... what did you ask me?

On the light side, I have always enjoyed this one...

A woman went to a doctor and said, "Doctor, I have a problem, every time I sneeze I have an orgasm!"
The doctor said,"Oh really, what have you been doing for it?"
The woman replied, "Snorting pepper!"

Yesssssssssssssssssssssss, what an amazingly wise woman! And I feel better already!

Have fun, be safe and use your manners!

Once upon a time...

Once upon a time...

Once upon a time there was a single mother to four beautifully clever and amazing children. She was a mother that truly believed her children were indeed her greatest blessings. As such, this woman realized at about 30 years of age that she must have done something terribly right in her life to have the joy of sharing her life with these astounding future adults. With this idea, she began the journey of loving herself as much as, if not more so, than those four little people.

Some may "feel" this idea was selfish, however before she could love her children as much as they deserved to be loved, she KNEW she had to experience that kind of love from within, putting herself and her needs first. She recalls telling her youngest daughter before a scheduled long run, " I have to be number one, otherwise I'm not any good for any of you. However, you four gorgeous creatures are definitely my number 1 A." This must have been good enough, for her youngest child as she never asked again, her children KNEW she loved them more than life itself, they were part of her journey.

Hiya, I'm Dee. As I think I mentioned above, I'm a single mother to four of the most spectacular human beings ever! Yuppers, it's true, these four little people - Samantha 17, Damon 15.75, Logan 14.5, and Danielle 9.5 are my reason for being here today. Not only were they sent to me to bless my life, my choices, and my future actions - they were given to me as a sign to never give up hope. You see I was over 300lbs by the age of 30. I had lost myself somehow and I was hiding behind food as my poison of choice. It was a slow death, the death of my self respect and self worth. Remarkably this story does have a happy ending...

I want to be as brief as possible about my journey.
Why? Well, because I learned from my journey, realized my mistakes and I am moving forward attempting to become the woman I KNOW I was intended to be :) Through educating myself about obesity, I began to heal myself from within. Once I could look at myself naked in the mirror and NOT cry uncontrollably, I KNEW I was on my way.
How? Well, I ate less, began exercising at a lock n key gym (so that no one could witness me exercising), and read a lot about why I'd chosen to do what I did to myself. Guess what? I made a choice. Once we make choices, truly make an informed decision there's no turning back, at least there never has been for me. My best friend recently pointed out how once I set my mind to something I don't give up. Some could refer to this as stubborn, I feel I'm simply determined :)

Along with my changed eating habits (who knew you couldn't eat a whole bag of cookies at one time, sheesh...), incorporated exercise into my daily routine, and sought therapy. I took courses pertaining to fitness. I obtained my Fitness Instructors Certification, Personal Trainers Certification, and took a course on Nutrition and Wellness. This education gave me the solid foundation I needed to make that difference I KNEW I could.

I began teaching a variety of fitness classes: low impact aerobics, step aerobics, weight training, the stability ball, kickboxing, etc... I learned to LOVE to sweat. The elliptical was one of my greatest joys, as I would work out on this machine for 90 minutes at a time, sweating profusely, smiling enthusiastically, feeling as I'd accomplished something big. You see I'm driven by setting goals. I've never been in a hurry for my weight to come off, I choose to believe I'm going to be around for a long while, and thus there isn't a rush to lose a set amount of weight at a set date or time. I work hard each day, I often mess up, and right after I mess up I get back on again. The key you see my friends, is this, come closer if you really want to know, the key to living a fulfilled, joyfilled, meaningful life is MODERATION.

I moderate how often I eat chocolate and ice cream (oh my, I'm drooling). I moderate how often I run each day. I moderate how much time I spend at work. I moderate how often I have alone time compared to how often I'm with others. It's really very simple, life is about enjoying EVERYTHING it has to offer, in moderation :)

So, back to this new "goal" I thought of setting. The one physical activity I disliked, no I hated, was running. Heck, I think I disliked runners, why on earth would anyone torture themselves like that? Apparently not sane people that's for sure. I mean, running? It's REALLY hard. That was it, a light went off inside my melon, an idea appeared so brilliantly in fact I was driven to begin “running” that VERY day. I did run a little, between catching my breath, feeling as though I was certain I'd die, but I didn't. After one week, I knew this little monster - running- wasn't going to become a reality much longer if I didn't set my sights higher. I then went online that day, found the Joints in Motion website and applied to do a marathon in Ireland, scheduled nine months away. I was now committed to this "goal", dangit what was I thinking huh?

I fell in love with nature. Unlike I'd even seen her revealed to me before. I found inner strength I never thought I really possessed. I ran with others, encouraging them. I ran with more experienced runners. They encouraged me. When I was upset, I put on my running shoes and off I went, letting the open road take care of whatever it was that needed working out in my life. I began a new life trail, taking a job outside my home, commuting to Regina daily. Then the summer of 2004, I didn't feel so great a lot of the time. I was tired, run down, exhausted - mentally, physically, and emotionally. My body mended, my mind fought to get stronger, and my emotional status sustained itself.

Before I went to Ireland I was in the hospital with a lung infection, I was put on steroids - gained weight- had a puffer, antibiotics, and really had no idea if I could in fact pull this off. Regardless of what was going on I used a quote I still use to this very day, "Do or Do not. There is no try" Yoda from Star Wars :) And I did! I ran a marathon.

I had hooked up with another woman from Saskatchewan, we ran side by side the entire 42Kms. In the beginning she told me to go on ahead, she didn't feel as thought she could make it. I made it crystal clear I wasn't going anywhere, that a marathon was what we were accomplishing, she was far more important to me than a "run". She spoke some touching words to me, she had prayed the night before for an angel. An angel that would help her through this marathon, she confided in me that I was her angel, I would help her finish this challenge. We did. A bit on the slow side, but we darn well did it! What's neat to experience about such a long, long, long, did I mention LONG, run - is that you actually can't believe your legs are still moving at one point, then you want your legs to stop , then you want God to take you NOW- to stop prolonging this satanic feat that you chose to inflict upon yourself, and then you come to a heavenly conclusion - I'm too damn tough to kill!

I made it happen. I didn't make excuses. I didn't sit around and whine. I knew what had to be done and I DID IT! I thanked my children for such an accomplishment - for without their support and understanding I never would have even "tried". The support from family and friends astounded me, I really was worth the effort. The effort I put into accomplishing my goal to run a marathon was worthy of me.

Since last October my weight has fluctuated up and down quite a bit. However, I'm happy and pleased to tell you all that I've lost another 50lbs. I don't need to be model thin, or waif like. I'm Me. I'm vulumptious, funny, kind, clever, healthy, sexy, enthusiastic, helpful, creative, etc... - I'm happy!

Psssst, I will do ONE more marathon this lifetime, just to say, "I DID IT!"

With Enthusiasm!

PS. How was it, running a marathon people often ask. Well, I’ve explained that raising teenagers and my experience participating in a marathon, are very similar. They’re both equally torturing and extremely rewarding, of course!

Sarcasm, just one more thing I have to offer...

As I frolic about, supressing those voices, you know, THOSE voices. The loud, often truthful, always humourous sarcasm that invades any warm blooded human with a witty approach to life and it's findings/lessons.

Here are a few demotivational expressions I've located online. Some I've created. And others I've heard.

Deep breath, this life IS supposed to be fun...

Defeat - For every winner, there are dozens of losers, odd's are you're one of them.

Remember things are never so bad that they can't get worse.

He who laughs last didn't get the joke.

There is no gravity, the earth sucks.

Adversity - That which does not kill me postpones the inevitable.

Dreams are like rainbows. Only idiots chase them.

You're still fat, keep exercising!

If ignorance were bliss you'd actually be happy.

Virtue is its own revenge.

Despair - It's always darkest just before it goes pitch black.

If at first you don't succeed...don't act surprised.

Life is not short. It is long. VERY long, especially after all those wrong decisions.

She sucks, she swallows, HE scores.

Eagles may soar but weasels are seldom sucked into jet engines.

Hazards - There is an island of opportunity in the middle of every difficulty. Miss that, though, and you're pretty much doomed.

It might take 52 muscles to frown and only 34 to smile or whatever, but it doesn't take any to sit there with that dumb look on your face.

It’s difficult to comprehend how insane some people can be. Especially when you’re insane.

Every silver lining has a great big dark black cloud.

Ambition - A journey of thousand miles sometimes ends very, very badly.

My Brand Spanking New Bicycle - Yay!

Ensuing my exhausting day on Saturday, I was met by my hunny, as planned.

In addition to being captivated by such a handsome hombre, my partner, best friend, lover, boy toy, etc... presented lil ole moi with a gift. A Wonder Woman t-shirt! What a fabulous surprise, squeals of delight escaped my lips. Many words of thanks, expressed. I was touched.

A pretty good guy, huh?

It actually gets better...

Off we drove to Wascana Park (largest man made in Canada - or it was). Having come to the end of my work day, as discussed earlier, we were going for a walk. The goal: to revitalize/energize whilst taking in natures beauty. *Sigh*

How perfect!

I was told there was yet another surprise for me. Oblivious to what was about to happen, I delightfully looked for another shopping bag curious to what else he had for me.

Seamus got out of the car, walked to the rear, opened the trunk and said something like, "Here's your new bike..." I really can't remember what else was said as I couldn't believe my eyes!

A Kona Dawg Matic!

I'm a chick and so I cried, hugged him a lot, and kept repeating thank you, thank you, thank you so very much...

I have wanted a bike for a while now, kinda jealous of his yearly Alberta mountain vacations in Golden BC. and this summer in Fernie BC.

Fast, furious riding down natures unforgiving beauty; what a rush. A rush I crave :)

A thrill I'm about to embark on to my fullest potential!

PS. My chooch is sore today. Apparently, as a wise and gorgeous woman mentioned to me today, I don't have to do it ALL right away.

Words of wisdom, noted!
